The Ministry of Health published the first national credentialling document in 2001. Its focus was on the credentialling of senior medical practitioners in secondary and tertiary services within a single service or facility. This updated framework has a wider application. The credentialling process it details applies not only to medical practitioners but to all health professionals in all New Zealand health and disability services, both public and private.
